What’s more, this is the second step to becoming a recommended lyre tutor by the LyreAcademy for your local community.

This course is for competent lyre players, who have successfully completed the Masterclass Tutor 101i and Tutor 102i, and preferably for (but not restricted to) graduates of the academy’s Full-Year Studies program. What’s more, it is for lyres of any type with at least 7 strings.*

* Do you own a lyre with more strings?

The course can be done by students with

a lyre or a kithara with 7 or more strings. Simple and step-by-step videos are available to prepare your lyre for the courses (including tuning).

• Teach the Hurrian Hymn, the oldest surviving melody
• Teach the 2nd Delphic Hymn, an ancient Greek melody
• Teach nine contemporary melodies, including Amélie, Star Wars, and Game of Thrones

It is time to teach your students their first melody using sharps, the 2nd Delphic Hymn from ancient Greece!

Lesson 5 How to Harmonize a Simple Melody

Did you know that you can take whatever simple melody you want and harmonize it to a more advanced and complex song in order to teach it to your advanced lyre students? In this lesson, we are going to see step by step the process.

Lesson 6: How to Harmonize a Melody using chords

Let’s take our skill of harmonizing simple melodies and move on to the next level! It is time for you to learn how to harmonize advanced melodies by adding chords and muting chords. Welcome to the lesson “Harmonizing a Melody 102”!

Lesson 7 From Jazz to the ancient Lyre

Harmonizing a Melody 103. Let’s see how you can take any jazz sheet music and adapt it to a melody that your advanced students can play on their lyres!

Harmonizing a Melody 104. In this lesson, we are going to apply what we have learned in this course by harmonizing an advanced and quite demanding melody to be played on an ancient lyre.

Lesson 9: How to Become a Better Lyre Tutor?

In this final lesson, we will see some advanced tips and run through some more bits of advice on how someone can become a better lyre tutor for advanced students!
