All Things Shiny and New: An Update on Headaches
Session Objectives
- Describe ICHD-3 classification of migraine and who should be on a preventative treatment and/or acute therapy.
- Explain the migraine preventative class known as CGRP mabs.
- Summarize the new acute migraine therapies, the medication classes known as “geparts” and the “ditans.”
The North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of .75 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

Dr. Donnelly is a board certified headache specialist and women’s neurologist at Novant Health in Charlotte, NC. She is a graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Fellowship in Headache Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
